Instant Hot Water

2 ways of getting instant hot water

#1  Immediate hot water (Hot water loop)
Beth Hughes, #225, has this system. Her pump is on top of her hot water heater.
Her pump manufacturer is Grundfos, and there’s a good YouTube about how it works:

The idea here is that when you want hot water the pump is activated. It pumps water from the hot water tank, out to under your sink (or whatever) and returns it to the tank. The pump senses when hot water has reached from the tank to the sink and turns off. You can then turn the tap on and there will be hot water. The delay while the pump works is stated as about 30 seconds. You can start the pump with a directly wired button or with a remote control. The system can be integrated into existing plumbing by using the cold water pipe to return the water.

The ACT D’mand system is similar. Their web site is   www.gothotwater.com
